Multifunction Scanner Electronic Board


Imagina is Scanteq’s hardware and software solution for documents scanning and processing offering high performance and easy integration. Imagina can be effectively used in a wide variety of office equipment in order to implement the digitizing of the images, ink-jet printing and other specific functions required in different working environments, for example:

 documents scanning and processing

 checks scanning and magnetic codeline recognition (MICR)

 lottery tickets scanning and recognition

 banknotes scanning

 ink-jet printing on paper items

The integration of the technology Imagina allow to increase the value-added of the office automation products, drastically reducing the development costs and risks. It also provides an rapid time-to-market and insures an extraordinary Return On Investment (ROI).



High performance and wide range of additional functions

The excellent quality of the captured images (color clarity and sharpness of the black and white images), the goodness of the magnetic codeline (MICR) reading for checks and the capture speed are the main performances around which the Imagina electronic board has been designed. Apart from these basic functions, the technology has been further augmented by a wide range of additional functions: magnetic and chip cards reading, ink-jet printing, OCR decoding, handwritten digits reading, OMR decoding and barcode reading. These solutions are based exclusively on proprietary hardware and software, obtaining not only excellent results, but also the maximum flexibility at the lowest price, which does not have to include the additional costs for licenses.


Hardware and software easy integration

Offering a generous range of basic and additional functions the Imagina board can be used in the development of a wide variety of office automation products. The integration requires the use of hardware devices that are compatible with the board (CIS – Contact Image Sensors, MICR head, ink-jet head, stepper motors, photocells, etc..), followed by the setting in firmware of the parameters corresponding to the new product topology. The software integration consists in the adaptation of a number of parameters used by the libraries (DLL) and the ScanQuest demo program. This software is provided by the manufacturer in order to illustrate the functionality and the performances of the product. Scanteq also offers a Software Development Kit, software examples sources and manuals allowing the use of the libraries for creating new applications or for integrating the product into existing ones.
